Mac: Studio Careblend/Pressed Powder

Hello lovelies, long time no speak!
I've been in Ireland (my homeland, don'tcha know) visiting family, and didn't get any chance to post!

This is just a quick post on a powder I bought a few weeks ago (*cough* Germany trip duty free *cough*) that has quickly become a handbag staple.

I introduce to you, ladies and gents, Mac Studio Careblend/Pressed Powder!

Check it out!
This is a beaut in terms of both packaging and quality.

The compact is weighty and matte black, which is good as it doesn't picky up finger marks from my grubby mitts. It's a fantastic size too, or at least it is for me. It's not small, and it's not giant, it's like...medium big....?

What I mean by that is that it's small enough to not be bulky to carry around, but big enough that I know it'll last forever, with a lovely sizeable mirror, and easy to find when I'm groping around for it in the bottomless pit that is my handbag.

I just love powder compacts - I always like to pretend I'm some 40's siren when I get this out to powder my nose ;) I'd love to get a vintage compact and try transfer this powder into it...

The powder itself is fantastic. I got it in shade Light Plus, which is a perfect shade for me. It's not too dark, and doesn't look chalky. In fact, it's almost like a cream.

Mac says:

Formulated to provide a smooth, virtually invisible, fresh-looking finish, this soft, cream-like powder is carefully blended to provide the skin with extra care, nourishment and comfort.

I'd agree with this - while I wouldn't say it 'nourished' my skin, it does feel comforting, and not drying at all, which is a problem I have. I have extremely dry skin but also get shine during the day but unfortunately dry skin + powder = flaky patches and general not-nice-to-look-at-ness.

I use this with a brush for a barely-there matte finish to my foundation, but during the day when my foundation begins to wear off, I'll touch up with the portable sponge, which turns the powder into a pretty decent cover up!

This is on bare skin - as you can see, it does provide a decent amount of coverage, and leaves a gorgeously natural matte finish. Definite win!

This retails for £19 HERE
