Last month was hosted Melbourne's Open House around the city of Melbourne. This means that different buildings were open for the public so that people could go and visit them, enjoy the guided tours, learn a little bit more about this glorious place, and take some photos of the amazing views the city has to offer.

My sister was just here and luckily enough I found out about Open Day the night before (it is hosted just for two days each year). So we planned several places we wanted to go, grabbed our cameras and started our journey (a lot of walking was involved, and a lot of running as well, trying to make the most out of it).

This photo is from St Paul's Cathedral situated in the corner of Flinder's and Swanston's street. We had a tour guide that unfortunately talked so low that we could barely hear him. This place had had several restorations that were not on the original plan of the architect, so according to our guide, the architect must be quite pissed. But you've got to admire that it still looks pretty nice.

We made several stops including Town Hall on our journey, sadly not in all of them it was allowed to take pictures.

Later on, one of the other places we stopped by was Urban workshop, which is a building created by the elaboration of three architect groups. This building is located at 50 Longsdale Street, and when you walk outside you can think you're looking at two different thin buildings, but in fact they both constitute the Urban Workshop. In the foyer you can find some materials from archaeological digs, such as china plates and combs, and even toys. And then, you get to Level 33, an amazing office with an incredible view of the city. Gosh, if I was working in that office, I wouldn't mind being there first and leaving last (considering that where I am working right now is in the middle part of the building and there are no windows unless I go to the common room).

We were lucky that all that day the sky was clear and bright blue, which made it nice for admiring the view. Not that lucky was that at night we had planned to go somewhere else but our tram never arrived. And then, it started raining. So we decided to call it a day and go back to clear our memory cards and recharge batteries. I guess, that day was the most productive day we had ever had, going to different places and knowing a lot of things about Melbourne than we have had during the rest of her trip.

And I've got to say, I love this city. Not for nothing it is the most liveable city in the world. You might want to consider coming here. Have a good one folks!
