GIRLS NIGHT IN!

Source: tumblr.com via Cynthia on Pinterest

We know those days, when somehow we feel blah, or those days where we are in the mood for sweat pants and ice-cream, or feeling bloated with the awful period (sorry gents, this is a girl post!), or just in the mood to stay in with your girl friends. For those days I've created a list of movies you might want to rent / download / buy. Feel fancy to mix them with a bottle of champagne while eating macaroons or maybe just grab that bag of chips, eat cake, and eat Nutella direct from the jar. No one's gonna judge.

In no particular order of interest, just according to how they popped into my head:

1. 10 Things I Hate About You.- Heath Ledger in his delightful accent. Heath Ledger with his charming smile. Heath Ledger in long brownish hair. Heath Ledger singing 'Can't take my eyes off of you'. Got your attention?

2. The Devil Wears Prada.- I haven't read the book though I might get onto it one day. But this movie has seen the insides of my DVD player so many times I'm pretty sure they might have an ongoing relationship now. I'm ramblings. Need a reason to watch this? The clothes! The clothes! The clothes! Everytime I watch this movie I feel like I've been living too many days as Andie Sachs and decide to start making a change wearing the nice underwear and putting on some make-up that is not chapstick. What I can't deal with? 1. That annoying ringtone. 2. Christian Thompson's brows. What happened there? They look weird. Anyway ... That's all.

3. (500) Days of Summer.- What's there not to love? Joseph Gordon Levitt is delightful and Zooey is super sweet, you can't just not love it. Indie love movie in the aisles of IKEA. Plus the soundtrack! and Joseph GL singing Here comes your man. It's the reality vs expectations of love stories.

4. Clueless.- So, Jane Austen wrote Emma but it was like totally old, so someone decided to create a modern adaptation and she was reborn under the name of Cher Horowitz in Beverly Hills on the 90's. I mean, heeee-e-llo? Anyway, whoever says they didn't want to be a tiny little bitz like her is lying, and, have you seen her wardrobe and the application she had? Wharreeevveer! Ps. Paul Rudd is in it!

5. How to Lose a Guy in 10 days.- This movie made me like Kate Hudson and of course, Matthew Mcwhatsoever (McConaughey, thanks google!) and Princess Sophia (Bullsh*t you say?). It's a must in your list. Frost yourself!

6. Bridget Jones.- Oh miss Jones, thanks to you I sing 'All by myself' in my pj's and think that granny pants are part of a hot black dress. Minus all the vodka. At least I've learned my lesson. Book is hilarious, movie is funny as well.

7. Sex and the City.- Being a fan of the TV show, watched it and cried due to lost of Aidan, therefore the movie is part of my girly girl collection. Although I am no particular fan of Mr Big, I still like the movie. Now, you won't see part 2 on this list because I didn't like it at all.

8. The Back-up Plan.- Not a huge fan of JLo, but somehow I have found myself indulging in this movie quite frequently. Plus the dude (Alex O'Loughlin, thanks again google) is just yummm. Like that piece of chocolate you're about to eat while watching these movies.

9. Mean Girls.- I mean, you've got to admit that this is a pretty girly, funny one. Also, not a big fan of LiLo, but I've seen this movie quite a few times and I can quote several parts of it. Besides, it's everywhere on memes (like Wednesdays we wear pink or None for Gretchen Wieners). Plus Jingle Bell Rocks ... and 'I'm a mouse, duh!' It's funny, admit it!

10. Morning Glory.- This is mainly because I like Rachel McAdams, and this is an easy movie to watch while lying on the couch.

11. What's Your Number?.- A lot of people don't like it but whatever, I do. It's funny, plus Chris Evans is naked in a lot of scenes. And ... do you need more than that? Ok, Chris Evans playing and singing Three Times a Lady! Admit it, you want a guy like that. No? Better, cause I do and then, more for me!

12. Crazy Stupid Love.- Ryan Gosling. Ryan Gosling with shades. Ryan Gosling eating pizza. Ryan Gosling naked. Ryan Gosling sleeping. Ryan Gosling shirtless. Ryan Gosling doing the Dirty Dancing scene. What are we talking about? Ok, besides Ryan Gosling, this movie is pretty cute, with a very cute Emma Stone (who I have to admit, I have a girl crush).

13. He's not that into you.- The scene of Ben Affleck and Jen Anninston. That's all I have to say.

14. No Reservations.- Food love. This movie makes me want to eat pasta. And have a sleepover.

15. Prime.- For those who think that age matters in love, this woman played by Umma Thurman is a thirty-something divorced woman who starts dating a 23 year old guy. And I thought I dated younger guys, but nothing like that.

16. Moulin Rouge.- Truth be told, first time I watched this movie I felt asleep. Actually, I can't remember if that's the story I used to tell or if it was that I was busy doing something else, but thing is, first time I stepped aside and didn't even finish watching it. Second time was the winner cause I felt completely in love with it. The songs! Yes, the songs! Plus the tango! Tango de Roxanne is my favourite song/performance and it might have to be that I am truly madly deeply in love with the dance. Fascinating. Come what may ...

17. Romeo + Juliet.- Please Romeo, turn around, there's a parcel for you. Please Juliet, wake up faster, can't you see he's about to take venom? Please please please, I hope this time he realizes she's not dead earlier and I hope she wakes up faster and they can live happily ever after. Never happens. Hope never dies.

18. The Notebook.- I am not a fan of mushy mushy love stories. I was tired of Rachel McAdam's constant screaming in this movie. I almost slapped her at one point (or at least wanted to do so). But geez, it made me feel all sad and say 'ooooh' and put the sad tear-y face. Sweet. Plus, Ryan Gosling...

19. P.S. I Love You.- Same as the above one. You end up liking it. Plus Gerard Butler. Plus Denny Duquette (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Plus the yummy Irish accent! Yes, I dig for that! And I love the song Love you till the end by The Pogues.

20. The Accidental Husband.- Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Colin Firth. Ah, and Umma Thurman. I thought I wouldn't like this movie, and for a while I tried not to, but hey, it's another easy movie to watch alone or with the girls and say 'I want a guy like that!'. Like, hot like that.

Wow, you thought this list was long? Not even close! While making this list (which I thought was going to be a short one) I kept thinking of other ones. And while getting the trailers I found others that were not on the list. So ... there's going to be a sequel! Prepare the pop-corn ladies... and enjoy your movies!
