These books are my personal favourite in the category of chic lit. I do have them, I do read them, I do enjoy them. That doesn't mean I don't read other kind of books but that every now and then I want something easy and fun to read.
Now in chic lit, I have found myself reading a lot of Marian Keyes' books. And once I came to Australia I found about Zoe Foster and once I read Playing the Field (after reading her column in Cosmopolitan) I needed to have her other books. They're all very easy to read and super funny, so give them a chance, you might find something new to spend your time.
Last Chance Saloon (Marian Keyes): The ups and downs of best friends Tara, Katherine and Fintan while they try to deal with having the perfect relationship with the perfect man, bad grumpy boyfriends, diets, sickness, work and being a thiry-something single.
The Younger Man (Zoe Foster): What happens when a thirty-something hooks up with a twenty-something? After what seemed to be a fun night between Abby and Marcus, destiny plans to bring them together again. But he's only 23 and she is in no position to babysit. You might devour this in one sitting.
The Carrie Diaries (Candace Brushnell): We all know Carrie Bradshaw (and if you don't, please go watch Sex and The City now!) and her life with her friends in Manhattan. Clothes, guys, and shoes. But was Carrie like that all the time? This books will take you to the early Carrie before she became sex columnist, even before she moved in to New York. This book has now been made a movie, and it has a sequel (which I haven't read it yet).
Bridget Jones' Diary (Helen Fielding): So if you have seen the movie, and laughed with it, you will love the book. It is way more hilarious; although I kept picturing Renee Zellweger as Miss Jones. It's just a no brainer that will entertain you, guaranteed!
Sushi For Beginners (Marian Keyes): Another fantastic book by Marian Keyes showing the story of three women at different situations on life. Lisa, one hard working woman, has to leave her extravagant life when she gets a promotion to launch a new magazine. Ashling, a people pleaser ready to help anyone that needs it, now has to re-arrange her life after a betrayal in her circle of friends. Clodagh, a mommy with a perfect life that still can't find herself loving the way she's living. Will they overcome their problems?
