Hello lovelies! I am currently in Barbados (!!) enjoying a very well-deserved holiday, if I do say so myself ;)
I'm in the best mood, not just because of the gorgeous weather, but also because I'm wearing a dress that I made myself!!
I attended an Emma Morrison Dressmaking class last Monday, and made myself a beautiful sundress. The class was great fun - it was a small class with only two other participants, but this was what made it so good, as Emma was able to give us all lots of guidance and attention! She also kept us well hydrated with lots of tea, and the class was held in her kitchen, so was lovely and informal!
I'd never touched a sewing machine before in my life, and was a complete novice, so am all the more amazed that I actually managed to piece together something wearable, no doubt due to Emma's excellent teaching skills!
We were surprisingly able to customise our dresses quite a bit, so I chose to make thick halter-neck straps and a short, baby-doll style dress.
What do you think?
