Hello my lovelies!
I hope everyone is well, and is making the most of the little summer we have left (it goes so quick T_T)
To bring back some summer-feeling, here are two products that are summer-perfect. I've said summer a lot. SUMMER DON'T LEAVE ME YET!! *ahem*
Above are Elizabeth Arden's Pure Finish Mineral Cheek Color in Sun-Kissed Coral and Pure Finish Mineral Cheek Color in Rosy Glow. There's a world of difference between the two. Honestly.
The Mineral Cheek Colour in Sunkissed Coral (Ms Arden has some very long names for her products...) makes me happy just because it soothes my inner geek. This baby is pure gadget.
On the outside it's pretty, summery, and oh-so-girly, on the inside...
GADGET CENTRAL. The brush unfolds to make two different kinds of brushes, a thicker one or a wider thinner one. But this isn't what's really exciting. Oh no, the brush trick is old hat, I've seen it before, that don't impress me much etc. etc. [insert further Shania Twain lyrics here]
The thrill of it all is in the grinder mechanism of the brush. Oh yes. Grinder mechanism. Doesn't it just give you chills of delight? Just me? Ok then.
You grind the blush! It's a pressed blush, but you grind it and you have powder! It's genius!
You can grind the exact amount of powder you need so there's no mess. Boom, all the plus points of pressed and loose powder rolled into one portable little package, about the size of a Bourjois Pot Blush.
The colour is a peachy coral with a hint of shimmer running through that will look perfect with a tan or without. A tan deepens the colour to a shade that reminds me of Bobbi Brown's Cabana Coral, while on fair skin it's all peaches and cream.
This was part of the 2011 Elizabeth Arden Bronze in Bloom Collection, which has now been discontinued. Chin up, as this means that it's now popping up cheap-as-chips on a lot of sale beauty sites! RRP is £20 but I bought this for £7.50 on Brandalley.
It's no longer available on there, but it is going for £16.50 on Feel Unique HERE in both Sun-Kissed Coral and Sun-Kissed Rose, and for an even cheaper £6.99 on Ebay HERE
The pressed powder version of this is the Pure Finish Mineral Cheekcolor. It's a mineral blush but without the gadgetry. Possibly less thrilling geek-wise, but makes up for it in prettiness.
The packaging has the lovely floral illustration that I just love, and I really like the orange contrasting with the black.
The shade is almost coral, but with a lot more pink and rose in it. It has a hint of shimmer, but not a very noticeable amount, and has surprisingly ended up my favourite shade of the two - in the pan, I'd have thought the clear winner for me would be Sun Kissed Coral.
On the skin though, this is a very flattering blush pink, that again looks fantastic with or without a tan.
This is from the 2009 Elizabeth Arden Bronze Blush collection and the RRP for this is £20, but I bought this for £6.95 from Cheapsmells. This is still available on Cheapsmells for £6.95 HERE.
The full 2011 Bronze in Bloom collection is available from Cheapsmells for £15.75 HERE
I hope this makes you feel a little bitmore summery than current UK weather permits!
Emma
