Today I want to blog about a product I think really really works - Clinique's All About Lips:

On Clinique's website, it claims that All About Lips:
"Delivers both immediate and long-term results to minimise evidence of fine lines, wrinkles and sun damage, giving the lip area a smoother, firmer look and feel. Helps lipstick adhere to lips, prevents lipstick from travelling, and will not alter lipstick colour. Helps prevent irritation from environmental aggressions. Comforts, calms, and soothes. Provides gentle exfoliation to lips, helping to smooth and soften lip area."
First off, I have to tell you I have major problems with dry lips. They are really really chapped, especially in winter, and as much as I'm a lip balm and vaseline junkie, nothing really seems to make that much difference.
This is the first product I've tried that not only gives instant effects, but also has noticeably improved the condition of my lips in the long-term.

It's a pump bottle, and is quite good at controlling how much product you get out (you don't need much at all, half a pump normally covers my lips and then some). The product itself isn't like a traditional balm, it's a cream, with quite a light silicone-y feel.

When you put this on, it feels like a really good face primer. It kind of coats your lips, but not in a sticky, gross way. Chapped, dry skin seems to suddenly disappear, and lips appear fuller and plumper.

The two photos are of my lips with and without. I don't think the photos show the difference that much, but it's definitely more noticeable a)in real life and b)when you apply lipstick.

When you apply lipstick the results are much more noticeable. Lipstick glides on much easier, and I find that when I have All About Lips on, cheaper or dryer textured lipsticks I own suddenly don't cling to dry bits, don't feather, and generally look much better quality.

Lipstick (Rimmel) on it's own

In these two photos the difference is much clearer. In the first, the bright matte lipstick clings to the dry chapped skin on my lips, and is already feathering slightly. In the second the dry bits are much less noticeable, the colour isn't feathering and is much more even.

Verdict: I love this stuff. It costs more than most lip balms at £16, but I think it's worth it, especially in the winter months. Also makes drug store lipsticks look high end!
