Hi guys! Not long til Friday! A few weeks ago Brandalley had a make up flash sale, and I picked up a few things. Possibly the best value item I bought was the Lord & Berry Lip Library Collection!

This set is huuuge, containing TWELVE Lord & Berry Lipstick Crayons.

***WARNING***

The following post contains dangerous levels of swatches. I repeat, the following post contains dangerous and unprecedented levels of swatches. Proceed at your own risk!!

Oh my goodness, when I first opened this up, I didn't quite know where to start. I tipped all the pencils out onto my carpet and and just stared at them in befuddlement for a while.

When it said twelve lip crayons in the description, I didn't quite realise just how many lip crayons that actually is.

The first major flaw with this visually is how difficult it is to distinguish the different crayons. Having the end of the crayon the shade of the lipstick would have made trying them out so much less daunting, because when I first saw them all, I just kind of went 'huuuuuuuuuughghg, where do I even start? O_______o'

The colours emphasised more clearly would make it easier to sort out right away the colours I like (nudes nudes nudes), from the rest, and just in general, would make it easier when I'm in a rush, sorting through my dressing table looking for a particular colour. When they're mixed up together, it's sooo time consuming to have to pick each up to check the lippie end.

That said, these were very pleasantly surprising. I'd never tried Lord & Berry before when I bought these, and I was intrigued, but this set was 12 lipsticks for £25 (that works out as about £2 each), so I wasn't expecting miracles.

However, the formula of these lip crayons is, frankly, stunning. They're so SO creamy and pigmented. Incredibly easy to apply even with my shaky hands, and the best part? The colour actually LASTS.

The problem I find with creamy lip colour is that, while I love the texture, it tends to disappear or smudge within the hours.

I don't know what they did to these lipsticks, but other brands need to sit up and take note. These are creamy, pigmented, and for some reason don't budge from my lips for a long time!

Obviously, these are no Lipfinity, but these last for about 5-6 hours, and that's after my cup of tea and toast in the morning, so they're doing pretty good for a cream lipstick in my opinion.

The proof is in the pudding, so lets move onto the swatches. Brace yourself ladies and gents....

(Left to Right) Cherry, Nude, Earth, Blush

(Left to Right) Naturelle, Vintage Pink, Taupe, Scarlet

(Left to Right) Orange, Fire, Intimacy, Lust

My befuddlement at this point was still going strong, so in the above swatches I hadn't put the lipsticks into any kind of order.

Luckily, my sister came to the rescue, by sitting me down with a nice cup of tea to calm my nerves (I believe at this point I was mumbling to myself, 'the colours, the colours...too....many...colours' over and over again), and putting all the colours into order herself.

They now go (by my sister's judgement) from lightest to darkest.

Onto the lip swatches!!

Nudo

Vintage Pink

Blush

Earth

Naturelle

Taupe

Intimacy

Orange

Lust

Fire

Cherry

Scarlet

Phew. My lips were very nicely exfoliated by the time I finished swatching all of these!

Isn't the pigmentation just gorgeous? I'm loving Cherry and pretty much all the shades between Blush and Orange. Blush is my current go to lipstick, as it's just so quick to apply, and easy to carry around for retouches.

The only complaint I can think of is that the natural/nudes shades in the middle section get a bit samey. But I love nudes, so for me this is a massive plus point!! I guess it depends on what you like colour wise. It might be nice if a few of the nudes were substituted for more vibrant/interesting colours for those who are more adventurous with their colour section.

Lord & Berry, if you're listening (which I doubt) a bright colour version of this would be great I reckon!! Especially considering just how well the brighter colours in this collection swatch!

These retail for £8 each on Asos, so I really did get a bargain :D Keep an eye on Brandalley make up flash sales, as they have some stonking deals, and often a lot of unusual brands and colours! (Psssst: If you do want to sign up, mention it in the comments section, and I can send you an invite that'll get you 10% off your first purchase!)

Lip Library page on Lord & Berry site is here if you want more info, although I don't think you can purchase  on-line there :(

While I can't find the collection on-line anymore, I did discover they're selling every shade listed above over on Beauty Bay for £6.87/$11.10!! They also do free worldwide shipping (I love those three words)!!
