Right guys, this is a first in a series of posts I'm going to do about an event I attended last Friday, The London Coffee Festival!

Amazingly enough, I really enjoyed this, even though I'm not much of a coffee drinker! Luckily, The London Coffee Festival was about so much more than just coffee - it was about coffee and food culture, so there were and abundance of amazing stalls laden with food and drink!

I went into blogger-mode as soon as I got there, and couldn't resist taking pictures of absolutely EVERYTHING. I've been sifting through the pictures since Saturday, and have chosen my very favourite products on display at the festival to tell you about!

The very first thing I saw set the tone for the standard of the whole evening - it was innovative, useful, and something I'd  never seen before!

This product is called The Keep Cup, and is one of those products which is so simple, and so useful, you can't help but be amazed it's taken this long to come up with!
It's basically a re-useable coffee/tea cup. This is a good idea because:

a) it's good for the environment, as it saves on paper cups - Apparently most of us dispose over 14 times out own body weight in product waste every year.
b) you're less likely to spill hot liquid on yourself due to the extra secure 'splashproof' lid.
d) they are 'barista-standard', so can be fitted under most expresso coffee machines (time-saving and easy to use!)

They're also really really cute and come in a variety of sizes and colours. I'm regretting not buying one of these now, because even though they had them available on special offer, at the time I was thinking 'well, I don't drink coffee really'. I've since realised though that I do get a tea on my way to work every morning, and throw away the paper cup before I arrive. Not to mention the number of spillage incidents I have had while walking with the paper cups (I now carry stain remover wipes in my handbag this happens so much!). Bah, missed opportunities...

Available here with price ranging from £7.80 for the smallest size to £9.40 for the largest!

They also had an amazing Artisan Cafe selling various drinks from different coffee blends from different Baristas.

Unfortunately, we arrived just as it was closing, so I didn't get to sample a wide variety, but I managed to get there in time to try this:

This is the Layer Cake Martini from Clinton Coffee Company. They say:

Clifton Coffee brings us The Layer Cake Martini, which took first place in the UK and runner-up in the World Coffee in Good Spirits 2010 competition. It is an espresso-based dessert-like martini made up of four distinct layers: homemade demerara sugar syrup, triple sec and crème de cocoa, espresso and TUACA, and double cream and Frangelico.

I'm not even a big fan of coffee and this was delicious!

Their range of coffees and equipment are available here, but I'm not sure where you can get the Layer Cake Martini :/ You might have to wait until the next London Coffee Festival to try it!

These teas from Kusmi Tea also caught my eye. Unfortunately I didn't get to try any, but the boxes look so pretty I really want to find a cafe that stocks these to try them! They have some amazing blends, like Euphoria (blend of roasted Mate with scents of chocolate and orange), Anastasia (Earl Grey, Lemon and Orange Blossom), Prince Vladimir (Citrus Fruit, Vanilla, and Spices), Rose Green Tea and Violet Black Tea!! They're a little pricey at 12 - 14 euro a tin, but the tea lover in me would happily pay that for such pretty tins and exciting blends >.<

More to follow soon on the Sweet Treats available at the London Coffee Festival!!
