Hello lovelies! Got that Friday feeling? I know I have ;)
This good feeling may be in part to a package that arrived last night containing my Butter London haul!!
I don't know if you remember, but I posted a while back about a Butter London flash sale on Brandalley - I'm a massive sucker for any kind of bargain, and seeing as I'd been hearing such good things about Butter London, I did a fairly substantial haul...
Right from the get go, I knew I had to get the above set, Trout Pout and Tea With The Queen. I'd been lusting after Trout Pout for a loooong time, and Tea With The Queen is my favourite sort of shade (I'm a neutral/tan colour addict).
This is probably my favourite set that arrived. The polishes themselves are gorgeous, I love the packaging. I think it looks so luxurious and chic. The bottles are glass, and feel weighty and high quality.
Tea With The Queen (On the pink side of tan, very neutral, but never boring lacquer. Understated and exceptional for work, or obviously, tea with the Queen.)
Trout Pout (An opaque shade of cantaloupe, a pale and retro lacquer)
They have a matching lipgloss for this shade (£14)! Perfect for the current trend of matching nails and lips! Lusting after this hard!
The polishes apply beautifully, and (pun intended) almost like butter! They're creamy and opaque, and easy to apply even for butter fingers me (I'm on a roll here guys).
The flash sale had sets of two for £15 (R.R.P £12 each), working out at £7.50 a polish!
I also bought a set containing Artful Dodger and Jaffa.
I wasn't influenced so much by the two shades on their own, but by how pretty they looked together - that's quite bad isn't it? :/
Artful Dodger (This true teal lacquer is a show-stopper. High fashion and so unique, it’s the perfect way to wear this trend without over kill.)
BTW - this is a good dupe for the limited edition, highly coveted, Chanel Nouvelle Vague polish that came out a while back, and which you might have seen me wearing in various reviews. It's now completely unavailable, and my bottle is running out quick, so I've been searching desperately for a replacement. Very happy with this!
Jaffa (A juicy orange lacquer, seedless, but potent as Hell.)
Perfect for Spring!
Look, don't they look so pretty together?! I can wear them like this right?!
Finally, Magpie that I am, I couldn't resist this set of glitter polishes, No More Waity Katie (a limited edition polish in honour of the Royal Wedding), Rosie Lee, and Henley Regatta.
This set was £18.50, working out to roughly £6 a polish! That's Half Price! :D
No More Waity Katie (soft, elegant greige shade with a splash of lilac glitter for the perfect marriage to combine fashion and fun)
This was probably the shade I was most excited about, and which was most disappointing. The colour applied really patchy, as you can see in the picture, and it just didn't look as glossy and high quality as the other shades. Possibly not such a shame it's now no longer available :/
If, like me, you love the colour of this polish, they have it available in a Lip Gloss set for £15 (little pricey!).
They say:
Double your chances of landing a Prince with lips that are perfect, plump and primed for snogging. Our first ever Lippy, in the shade of No More Waity, Katie, is a soft, sheer lavender gloss with tiny flecks of lilac glitter.
My favourite of the glitter shades, Rosie Lee (A parade of pale pink glitter, a lacquer that will lift your spirits AND your outfit.)
Henley Regatta (Glitters like the Thames on a sunny day. A lacquer fusion of green and blue glitter that varies in intensity depending on the light… Beautiful!)
Hmm, I'm not as sold on the glitter shades. They look gorgeous in the bottle, but don't apply so well on the nail. All the opaque shades are beautiful though, will definitely be purchasing Butter London again!
My favourite shade is Tea With The Queen, and it's what I'm currently sporting on fingers and toes!!
