Hi! It's been a while since my last post, since things have been pretty hectic - I started a job as a Marketing Executive for a magazine Monday before last!

Today I'm blogging about hot rollers, otherwise known as my miracle workers. Seriously, these are the bomb. They take 10 minutes to heat up, 10 more to set, and voila, perfect salon-worthy hair. And best of all, the Babyliss set I own only cost £25!

Jump!

The BaByliss 3035U Ceramic High Speed Rollers set (currently available at John Lewis for £26.99) comes with 20 rollers, 8 Large, 6 Medium, 6 Small. They all rest on hot plates, and all you have to do is flick a switch on the side and leave them to heat up.

One of the rollers has a dot on top which turns from red to white when the rollers are ready to be used.

I put the rollers in going away from my face (tutorial here).

The set comes with two different contraptions to keep the rollers in place. The more traditional ones are these metal pins:

These are trickier to get the hang of. You push them away from your head, and it takes a bit of technique to get it secure. Once you've mastered it though, I find the curl looks much better and has less chance of crimping, as it can do from pressure by the other contraption: the clip.

This is far easier to use, and I only used these when I first started using the hot rollers. You just clip around the roller, it's easy-peasy.

With the clips they end up looking like this:

This part is fun for me as I get to pretend I'm Beyonce in the 'Irreplaceable' video :D

After 10 minutes, or when the rollers have lost all their heat, you take them out and boom:

Super curly curl

Curls after I've run my fingers through a few times

The effect is so pretty, and takes no time at all. You can play around with the rollers to get different effects, either using different sizes, or rolling them in different directions. you can brush your fingers through your hair, or use a comb, depending on how defined you want the curls. These are really a life saver whenever I have major bedhead and can't be bothered washing my hair, or if I have an event on. They're great to mess around with when I'm bored too...

Curls in better light & slightly more defined

Hope I've managed to convince you of the joys of hot rollers: straight hair is so 2011 people! :P
