***Hiya, my lovely friend Helen over at Helentastic very kindly agreed to write guest post for me! We were shopping last weekend, and she bought the most beautiful Chanel lipstick: Rouge Coco Shine in 48 Evasion! I was infinitely jealous, and asked her to write a post for me about it. She usually blogs about Anime (go check her blog out, it's good!), so I am immensely grateful she broke from the norm to do this for me. She is as much of a make up fiend as me underneath it all, so maybe this will bring a few more beauty posts out from her in the future... ;D.***

Today I am doing something a little bit out of the ordinary and I'm writing a review of an item of make-up for a very good friend of mine Lipsticked Louise!

You may not know this, but I am a huge make-up fiend! I love make-up almost as much as I love gaming/anime merchandise! So today I'm reviewing an item from my favourite brand... CHANEL!!

The item I'm reviewing is a lipstick from Chanel's Rogue Coco Shine line. I have a rather healthy collection of lipsticks from various brands but I really like Chanel's formulae for lipsticks, they tend to be very creamy and hydrating, which is perfect for my drier than dry lips.

Here's what Chanel say about their Rogue Coco Shine collection:

"ROUGE COCO SHINE makes an irresistible desire for lightness flit over your makeup. With its mischievous touch, it glides over lips with all the charm and freshness of a snapshot.

...

Collect a colour to match your every desire!"
read more here.

I'm sure Chanel would love you to collect a huge variety of colours to match your every desire, especially since they charge £23.00 per lipstick!

The lipstick I bought was Chanel Rouge Coco Shine 48 évasion. I chose this particular shade as an "everyday lipstick" because of its quite neutral beige colour with a sheer shimmer. I felt that this shade would be very wearable and flattering.

Here are a couple of photos of the lipstick itself (in natural lighting)

The size of the lipstick is considerably smaller than I thought it was going to be, the length measuring up at about 7cm and the length of the actual bullet of lipstick itself is less than 2cm.

As Chanel says, the texture is very creamy and soft, it glides onto my lips perfectly and they do feel hydrated after just a light application. The colour is incredibly sheer and needs to be reapplied regularly or else it fades.

As you can see, there isn't a huge different between my bare lips and the coloured ones but it does give them a nice shine and a slightly healthier glow.

There is a pleasant, subtle perfume added to this lipstick and it has no taste (what? Don't you check to see if your lipstick tastes of anything?!).

If you're feeling daring (or rich) then I would say that treating yourself to this lipstick (or another shade in the Coco Rogue Shine collection) is a nice investment but there are a lot of alternative sheer lipsticks out there. If you want to try another designer sheer lipstick then I recommend Lancôme's L'Absolu Nu, alternatively if you'd like to try something a little cheaper I've heard fantastic things about Revlon's ColorBurst lip butter (I know, colour is spelt wrong ;-().

Here are a few more photos of me wearing the lipstick!

And before I finish, just to put in a little bit of geekiness (which is well overdue), this particular lipstick would work great in for a palette for:

Integra Hellsing (from the Hellsing manga/anime)

Yuna (from Final Fantasy X)
